Simon Long

 

Simon graduated with first class honours in Transport Design from Coventry University as a mature student in 2005, and is a highly qualified professional industrial designer. Teamed with Marcus, Simon designed and created the Climax Sports Racer prototype. Simon is an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University in the Department of design, specialising in product design, interior design, and graphic design and is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, Niche Vehicle Network and the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. Simon will provide the design direction of the business.

 

Marcus Rayner

 

Marcus graduated with first class honours in Transport Design from Coventry University, and has been responsible for the majority of the Climax prototype design and aesthetics and as a highly innovative designer, Marcus has already proven himself in the industry since leaving University. Marcus has experience within the marine industry while working with a luxury super-yacht manufacturer. Highly literate in advanced design CAD packages, Marcus has been engaged to present project designs for East Midlands Trains, and London Underground and concepts for Siemens. Marcus will support the ongoing design of Climax Cars, and will carry third party design consultancy.

 

Brendan O’Toole

 

Brendan O’Toole founded Coventry Prototype Panels along with Darren Welsh in 1995 and rapidly established a strong reputation within the automotive industry for specialist panel manufacture in steel and aluminium. Brendan is the Managing Director of CPP and Coventry Motor Company Ltd. and is fully experienced in low volume car manufacture from concept to production. CPP not only supply the highest skill set in coachwork, but also bring specialist engineering for car production, which will provide invaluable resources for Climax Cars.

 

Simon Kiero-Watson

 

Simon enjoyed a successful career as a Business and Commercial Banking Manager at Lloyds TSB. As Head of Business Products at the Catalyst Investment Group Simon qualified as an Investment Adviser before being appointed as Managing Director of the trading platform for unlisted companies, 535X. He was also instrumental in establishing the first Approved EIS Fund in the UK. More recently, Simon was the Corporate Finance Director for City One Securities Ltd and has acted as a marketing and management consultant to other corporate finance houses and stockbroking firms.

 

Ian Howe

 

Ian began his career within the capital equipment market place on a technical and commercial basis with Applied Materials Inc. He left to embark on a consultative career in financial products and successfully created high business levels and grew a sales infrastructure to new levels within the financial services market place. Ian was then head hunted as a new business development manager, Metron Semiconductors an international technology company. From here Ian set up his own business consultancy assisting business ventures, securing private equity and corporate finance. Ian has also acted in a commercial capacity to develop start up companies within the UK and Spain, as well as developing a successful international car brokerage.

 

Lance Gurney

 

A graduate of Coventry University Lance has worked closely with Simon and Marcus over several years branding and marketing a range of products. He has worked on the Climax Sports Racer project from the outset and was responsible for a number of marketing strategies for the car including arranging for the concept car to be exhibited at the Top Marques show at Monaco, the Salon Prive motorshow, the Autosports show and the Goodwood Festival of speed. Lance is responsible for liaising with Climax Cars' environmental partners.
