The Sports Racer is, first and foremost, a performance car but has been designed from the outset to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
The Sports Racer is constructed out of aluminium, the most abundant metal on earth. Constructing the Sports Racer from aluminium makes it significantly lighter than its rivals. Less weight means lower emissions and better performance as well as improved handling.
Whilst aluminium is not as lightweight as composites such as carbon fibre, the use of aluminium increases the ability to recycle, whereas composites are in most cases non recyclable and use chemicals in their production that are harmful to the environment. As well as being recyclable the use of aluminium increases the lifespan of the car due to the reduced amount of corrosion compared to cars built from steel.
Climax Cars have established a working partnership to support the Applied Research Centre of Sonochemistry at Coventry University. This support will constitute close liaison with the researchers, in their endeavours to create new bio fuels using ultrasound.
Climax Cars are also working with Coventry University for the development of alternative environmentally friendly materials for use in both interior and exterior components.
Designed without compromise, the Climax Sports Racer is a stripped-out race inspired performance car that combines up to date automotive technology with dramatic hand crafted aluminium bodywork.
Powered by a 4.6 litre V8 driving the rear wheels the Climax produces up to 345 bhp providing electrifying performance, acceleration from 0-60 takes just 3.9 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 170 mph.
TheClimax Sports Racer S is equipped with a supercharger producing up to 510 bhp for the ultimate performance experience.
